Location, Location, Location!

Choosing the right location to suit your ceremony is one of the most important parts of planning your wedding ceremony. The location might have a special connection for you as a couple, it might be a convenient location for guests or it might provide amazing views.
Wherever you choose to get married you just need to ensure this is listed on your wedding licence application.

The legal part : Marriage Act 1955 – Part 5 – Section 31 (i) : Every marriage solemnised by a marriage celebrant shall be solemnised at a place described in the marriage licence issued in respect of that marriage. If on the day of your wedding you find out the venue is no longer suitable, the location can be changed on your wedding particulars and will be altered by the celebrant.

At the start of planning your wedding, have a discussion together about what requirements you have from a venue or location, think about how many guests you are going to have and whether you will have your celebration there afterwards too or move on. Think about the time of year and the effect the season will have on your ceremony.

Top Tip : Make a list of things that are important to you for a wedding venue and view multiple places to tick all your boxes.
